Search Description: A global report and prayer for those in secret prisons and modern slavery, alongside a reflection on the Sabbath rest and freedom.
Meditation
Before reading the blog, take a moment to center yourself with this guided meditation and prayer for deliverance from hidden captivity:
Daily Jesus Prayers. "This Prayer Sets You Free from Every Hidden Captivity." YouTube, 30 Oct. 2025, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wu2o3YVMLA.
The Sabbath: Three Things God Did
According to Genesis 2:2-3 (BSB):
> "And by the seventh day God had finished the work He had been doing; so on that day He rested from all His work. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because on that day He rested from all the work of creation that He had accomplished."
>
On the Sabbath, God did three specific things toward that day:
* He Rested: He ceased from all the work of creation.
* He Blessed It: He bestowed His divine favor upon the seventh day.
* He Sanctified It: He set it apart and made it holy.
Global Report: The Reality of Secret Prisons and Modern Slavery
According to the most recent global estimates from the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Walk Free Foundation's Global Slavery Index, roughly 50 million people are currently living in modern slavery worldwide. Of those, 27.6 million are trapped in forced labor, which includes state-imposed forced labor and hidden exploitation within global supply chains.
Many of these individuals are held in secret facilities, unauthorized detention centers, or isolated labor camps where independent inspectors are denied entry. They are intentionally hidden away from society so that their captors can evade accountability, leaving the victims trapped in conditions where their health, safety, and basic human rights are completely ignored.
Prayers for Deliverance and Justice
A Prayer for the Leaders of the World
Lord, we pray for the leaders, governments, and authorities across the globe. Empower them and cause them to rise up with courage to seek out, expose, and dismantle every secret prison, hidden labor camp, and facility of unjust captivity. Give them the unyielding resolve to end these abuses so that no human being remains hidden in a trap.
A Prayer for the Captives (In the Pattern of Moses and Aaron)
Just as Moses and Aaron stood before Pharaoh in Exodus and demanded, "Let my people go," we stand in the spirit today against the forces of oppression. We pray for every person trapped in secret captivity. Lord, we do not know their specific ailments—whether they suffer from severe allergies, illnesses, or the terrible physical and mental toll of their confinement—but You see them.
* For their condition: We pray that someone will find them, provide aid, and bring healing to their suffering. Make their current surroundings safer and bring supernatural peace to their minds.
* For their captors: We pray that a sudden, convicting mercy would overtake the people holding them. Soften the hearts of their captors so they begin to seek the best interest, health, and well-being of those they hold.
* For their release: We decree their eventual and complete release. Open the doors that no man can open, and lead them out of their personal Egypt into freedom.
A Prayer for Unity Among Intercessors
God, please send help, strength, and unity to all others around the world who are praying for these very same people, animals, and beings in captivity. Let our collective prayers rise together, uniting us in purpose and power.
Public Affirmation:
We publicly affirm that every life is seen by God, that no prison is too secret for His light to penetrate, and that freedom is the divine right of all creation. We stand in unity for their deliverance.
